As you can probably figure out, this post might have something to do with plants. This weekend I went on another excursion. Yes, my classes are stealing my weekends. Last weekend animals, this weekend plants. One piece of good news about this weekend is that it hailed zero times and rained just as often. We had beautiful weather for the entire trip, complete opposite of last weekend. Our activities were much more limited this weekend. It really came down to looking at plants. We went to a bunch of different ecosystems and looked at plants. After that we went and looked at more plants. You may have noticed that there seems to be a repetitive theme here. So plant part was a bit of a snooze fest, which will come back to haunt me later unless I step up the studying.
More important was the place we stayed. It was youth retreat/convention center and a nice set up. There was also a trampoline. Said trampoline was jumped upon. Be jealous.
Also we get there, we setting up and putting our stuff away when Paddy, I don't think he's a lecturer but he sure knows a lot about plants and had a plant science hat, asks if anyone wanted to go on a pub run, he was driving a bus over. It took two buses to get all the interested students there and back. I'd like to highlight that it was one of the staff who suggested this, you could not do that in the US. sigh. Our unit coordinator cooked us dinner and it was great, I had at least 20 (small) chicken wings. I forgot to mention I didn't get lunch. This is because I bought a foot long subway sandwich for breakfast and lunch, but it became breakfast and second breakfast, so I was hungry by dinner. I've decided subway is better here than in the US. Sunday was more of the same, lots of plants, and then we headed back to campus. It was a good time, most people were fun and no one got too drunk saturday night, not even the professors. Then I got back and had to go all my homework
