Classes...what are these things, I don't understand, its as though they expect me to learn. So I've had to go class this week, and as traumatic as it was it hasn't been bad. The first class I had was Plants in Action, which is interesting, the class itself was fine and then we had the practical (lab). it was bad, they expected me to be be able to draw the slide of a plant and each cells. it was horrible! Gav, one of the guys in my college was also in it, but he has to drop it, leaving me all by myself, sigh. I know all physiology that we'll learn, just not anatomy or anything like that. this will make the course a little more difficult than i hoped.
I'm also taking Tasmanian Fauna which is going to be AWESOME. during the first class i was sitting there and it was a concious effort to not stop bouncing around chanting i'm so excited, i'm so excited. there should be opportunities for field work and all sorts of awesome things. it will be awesome. you may notice that i've been repeating a word here
i'm also taking short fiction writing which has made me a little concerned. she's really into this short part, and I'm not sure I can deal with that. our first assignment will be a 300 word story. i dont think you can really do anything in 300 words, it just doesn't seem like enough. she read us a 147 word story someone had written and i wanted to raise my hand and ask "what the fuck was that?" i did not, but i wanted to. we'll see how this goes. she seems to be a good writer, she won an award for her first book.
Ok, made it through the academic nonsense, now lets get to societies day. societies is a day at school where we sign up for societies and they give you cheap beer. i have no idea how this started or whose idea it was, but everyone loves it. so i joined the diving club, and then the medical club (TUMS) because they were giving out a lot of cheap beer. It was fun and the education minister of tasmania was there, which i found hilarious. that was from 3-6, then we went to a house party, though the party was actually on the roof, which was pretty cool. i really don't remember too much of what happened after that, not the details anyway. i twisted my ankle pretty badly, so that'll be a pain for about a week...sigh. probably taking it easy for a while. luckily everyone else was in similar states. went to class this morning, it was fauna so i loved it of course. then i slept all day, life is hard...
